I got my x-pipe today, after waiting for about a month. I open the box and It looks beautiful, I start to take it out and put them how they are supposed to be and I noticed some little defects, I'll let the pics tell you the rest:

Now for those of you have bought this exhaust, when it came in did it look like this? Some parts are un-even lengths, the rear of the x looks like its is overbent, the rear flanges are not there like some of the ones I've seen, theres just a bunch of little things. Maybe I'm being a bit picky. Now to my question should I send this thing back to them and tell them to make a new one. I'm kinda pissed off about this, I know it needs some work, but this is a bit much. They brag about how their product being so high quality, I think the guy who made it was high. Its going to take a whole lotta work to even get this thing together properly. What should I do??

I think you should put it on the car before you start complaining.

If it doesn't fit, then yeah you have a gripe. But just sitting there looking at it, it is impossible to tell one way or the other.

I don't see the problem, uneven lengths? I'd sooner have them send me pipes I have to cut an inch off of than pipes that I have to add to. It appears to me that they sent you a set of pipes that any decent exhaust guy can install with ease. I don't like premade kits much anyway, I prefer to find a good privately owned exhaust shop and have them build the exhaust on my car. I have a local shop here that specializes in that very thing.

You bought the X-pipe kit which, on their website, even says it's not a direct bolt on:

This X-Pipe is designed to fit perfectly in the stock location, although; it is not a direct bolt on product. We provide this X-Pipe as a Tubing Kit to allow the user to customize their application.

I have it sitting under my car right now, I think I can make it work, the guy I was going back and forth with at the company made it sound easier than it really was. I knew it wasnt a direct bolt on when I bought it, it just seems that the two leading to the X are uneven, and the bends are goofy looking. The rear of the X is over bent a little bit. It looks like they were crushed by thier vise and left little marks and kinks ALL over it. One of my main questions is, arent there supposed to be flanges on the back of the X for the rear half to bolt up? Ive seen pics of eveyone elses kit and it seemed that they all came with rear flanges

you are aware that cars aren't symmetrical?? I believe if you look at the exhaust manifolds you will find that they don't exact at the same angle/position.
Look at the way the converters sit on the stock location, they aren't exactly parallel to each other.

Yeah I got it under the car last night, and mocked it up kinda. It will go together, it just wont look pretty, it will deffenatly will need some work to get together. I have to get the X-pipe figured out, since it is missing the flanges, still kinda aggrivating, especially when I waited for about a month to get these.

So they sell the kit in two options, slip fit and ball socket, the sent me slip fit, soI am gonna stick with it. theyre sending me a new X pipe since mine was a bit over bent and where the x met in side wasnt cut all the way. I'm getting it fabbed up this week gonna take some pics of the install when I get it up there. As for the company they are some pretty good guys, they took care of my problems and answered all the questions I had.

On the one they sent me the the ball and socket part that connects to the manifold just swallowed the ball so i had to have the shop install it. they chopped it up a bit and fabricated a few new peices but all in all i was not dissapointed.
