The new Ford Windstar and Mercury Monterey will get the 4.2L V-6 (201 hp/265 lb-ft). Hopefully this engine would be able to be swapped into the MN12 like the F-150 4.2L. And there should be plenty of junk 4.2L minivans in the junk yards in the future.

Why wouldn't it work. You can take a 32v lincoln continental FWD engine and swap it into an mn12.

As long as they are using the same engine, you would just have to swap motor mounts. Mabye a couple of other things too.

No it won't work, the Current 3.8L splitport in the van has a different bellhousing pattern, the same pattern used in the 3.0 OHV and 3.0 DOHC FWD engines. I willing to be they still use the same bellhousing for the 4.2L FWD engine. Also the crankshaft is about 1" shorter in the FWD engines.
