Assuming factory RKE, you program the car for the remote, not the remote for the battery, so you just swap the battery.

even so, reprograming is easy. Just in case anyone wants to know.

There is a programming connector locater in the trunk on the driver's side, behind the trim panel, taped to the wiring harness that leads to the rear tail light. It's a white or grey plastic connector with two terminals that is not plugged in to anything.

turn ignition to run or acc, and momentarily jumper the two progam connector terminals with a jumper wire. the system will respnd by locking then unlocking the doors.

press any button on the transmitter. the doors wil then lock and unlock, to verify the signal.

doo this with any additional tramsmitters

turn the ignition to off, the doors wil lock and unlock again and you're done.
