Well i found out my cats are plugged or plugging so im gonna replace the exhaust system. Im gonna go true duals with high flow cats and an O/R h or x pipe. Since im new to exhaust im pretty lost...i have some idea but i need some help. The car is my DD so gas mileage is a factor, im not looking to get serious power outta the car right now so im not looking to get too big of pipes. Ive been reading and pretty much i should stay with 2.25 inch pipes, two high flow cats, and an h or x pipe.

i REALLY love this sound!!:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMjdto07tuk

^^ if i can get my car to sound like this ill be happy! Anyone know whos car that is?

If WA state doesnt have a vehicle inspection requirment for cars, why are you spending the big bucks for cats? If you dont have to have cats, skip them. Go 2.25 in front to rear. Use the muffler of your choice and if it is too loud, put in an "X" pipe.

The first part did sound nice, but.....

sounds like ass with the cutouts..
Yeah. I thought it sounded like a DD car....as in "Demolition Derby" car.
Might have been better if it was cammed out, bumped up, and with full length open headers......not "cut-out"

Eh, just my $.02

yea the cutouts sound like ass, but the first part sounds good without the cutouts.

and well where i live theres no emissions, but the car is registered in a different city and they have inspections, so the car has inspections.

i hear good things about borla's any sound clips?

it would also be nice if some of you guys could post some clips of your X and H pipes.

I just got a response from trubendz. their website is www.trubendz.com and they told me they still have the jigs for the Tbird at the shop. and can do it. They told me that they have 2 in stock still. 2.5inch Aluminized steel mandrel bent with High flows and O/R Xpipe to the cat back portion for 295 +25 dollars for shipping. You might have to contact them for the Full system and priceing for stainless steel. I just asked what they had in stock at the time.

i have true dual 2.5" catless pipes that run from the manifolds all the way back to the gas tank that i would let go for cheap. That car in the video has catless exhaust with glasspacks

o hand was state does have emission in the greater metropilis areas but they do no visual inspect just a snifer or diagnostic for 96+ cars. Ive passed without cats ill also let my bbk mil eliminators go cheap as well which will keep the cel off

and ill even help install the exhaust if you want

that'd be pretty cool if you could help install the exhaust...maybe i could see that terminator swap in life :D

would cats make a difference in sound with the glasspacks?

With the cats it will be alot quieter. As for emmissions all my cars had the same requirements such as HC emmissions and the best results Ive ever seen on a pass was my 86 tbi 2.8l S10 blazer comlpletely stock with no caat. As long as your powertrain is in good running order your car will still pass a snifer.

Summit racing and a few others...may try hotexhaust.com have glasspacks for around 20$ each . The exhaust i have will bolt on and get you to the fuel tank then i can help you from there build what you want. I found the thread for the video you were looking at...

Well he does have his caats on. If you do go offroad setup it will sound even meaner and to keep it quiet you can fit how many glasspacks or dynomax bullets you want on the car for a quieter aggressive sound. I have also noticed that with caats an exhaust has a higher pitched sound vs the more aggressive sound of a offroad h pipe'd GT sound everyones after. I have a few ideas just pm me if you want to check the 2.5s out

I used to have a flowmaster catback on my ford focus from trubendz, the fit and finish were very good.
