I was digging for something else, and this popped out at me:

MSD Timing Tape for Harmonic Balancers

Now, they don't have one to fit a 5.0HO properly (the 6-3/8" would be close, and possibly close enough, to the 6.5" OD of the 5.0HO as listed), but they DO have one that'll fit at least a couple of years 3.8SC .. and if what I dig up is right, the 3.8NA also!

And for $10 plus shipping, it'd be right real nice if you were doing any diddling with the timing on a 3.8NA or 3.8SC ...

The Mr.Gasket one for the 5.0HO is still available, but I usually find it for about $15 (yuch!) and it's white on black, harder for me to see.

(Dampener for the 4.6 is supposedly 7.530 diameter, the 7.5 should work within a fraction of a degree.)

I used one on on my 460 falcon.
If for looks pull the HB to install.

If for performance, pull the HB for install.

Performance, better off having the HB marked with some type of
permanent engraving (sp).

The tape will eventually fall off.

Yep, the tape will fall off. But the real advantage of the tape is that you can use the it to find where to engrave the marks you need on the damper itself. The math is already done on the tape, just transfer the marks.
