Hello all,

just another random question here....

i know you can upgrade from stock TC's to Mark 8 TC's. However, is it possible to purchase and upgrade to a Mustang torque converter? If it can be done, what kind of stall and price would I be looking at?

thanks for your time.

Does it matter what year TC from a Mark VIII to get for a '97 T Bird?
I know people were saying that '93 drive shaft was the one to get as far as drive shafts go.

you are correct when it comes to the drive shaft... '93 Mark VIII driveshafts are one piece and are made of aluminum.

ANY TAKERS ON THE TORQUE CONVERTER QUESTION?????

You're loooking for TC part # F8LZ-7902-BARM. Approx
2100rpm stall, and if you're a TCCoA member - call DanN
for a price.

Is the Mark VIII torque converter...

a bolt in swap with a 97 4.6 bird? Would I have to change anything else with it, besides the oil?

Because the Mk VIII/Mustang TCs are 10", and I believe our stockers are like 12", yeah, you need the new flexplate on your MN12. No matter the year. Anyone care to correct me if I'm wrong?

'94-'97 Tbirds/Cougars will need the new flexplate.The stock t/c on the TBird/Cougar is a 12" unit,and the MK8/Mustang GT is a 11.25" unit.
