I changed the spark plugs on a friends toyota pick-up this afternoon and she just called me saying that the truck was having problems starting. I disconnected the battery, pulled the intake tube *left the airbox and MAF alone because it didn't seem to want to come out*.. gapped everything to what her Hayne's manual said (.031") snugged 'em back in hooked everything back up and thought we were done with it.

She mentioned something about an alarm when she called me and that has lead me to suspect that there is something in the alarm that may have triggered when I disconnected the battery? She says it's started a couple times briefly but died when she went to put it in gear, but I can't get over there to have her crank it over for me.

I seriously doubt we messed anything up, but why wouldn't it start after changing the sparkplugs? None of the wires were damaged, everything was hooked back up.. the only X factor is the alarm.

you sure you didn't mess up the plug wires> i.e. put #1 on plug #3, etc....

should be a fuse for the alarm.
