My '97 Bird with 4.6 has started doing what it did a few years back again....when I'm dirivin down the road and let up on the gas the throttle seems to drop off to almost nothing causing the slack it the driveline to kind of click otherwise it doesn't de-cell smoothly right now-I have changed the TPS and no change, I changed the IAC over a year ago-and that seemed to cure my problems-I wonder if it has gone bad again? any way to check it before I replace it?
Any other suggestions?

Take it off and work it open and closed as you clean it with carb or electrical parts cleaner. It might be sticking due to dirt/carbon buildup.

All fixed!! took of the IAC and sprayed the heck out of it & re-installed & test drove.
All is well now....can't understand why a fairly new one would already be sticking...its only got about 10k miles on it and is about 1 1/2 years old.
