I bought a trans cooler about a month and a half ago as part of my plan to update my 4R70W. I unpacked the box and noticed this wierd looking fitting. It's a piece of tubing, 5/16" I think, that's flared at both ends with a single brass fitting in between the two flares. The fitting has male and female threads on it. I read the installation instructions and it says I need only that one fitting to hook the thing up. I am a little confused as to how to actually use that thing and the theory behind such a design. Anybody have experience with one of these things?

those are for universal radiator design because those extra fitting are for differnet makes and model. use whichever you need to hooked up or you can just go to lowes and buy some brass fitting to make your own connection.
