I couldn't find any places on the site that had all the gear ratios for the various Ford transmissions, so I did some looking and found them elsewhere. I think this will be a valueable asset to board members when calculating rear end gear ratios vs. MPH.

'89-'93 M5R2 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 3.75
2nd Gear - 2.32
3rd Gear - 1.43
4th Gear - 1.00
5th Gear - 0.75

'94-'95 M5R2 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 3.42
2nd Gear - 2.16
3rd Gear - 1.34
4th Gear - 1.00
5th Gear - 0.75

4R70W Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 2.84
2nd Gear - 1.55
3rd Gear - 1.00
4th Gear - 0.70

AOD/AODE Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 2.40
2nd Gear - 1.47
3rd Gear - 1.00
4th Gear - 0.67

Ford C4 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 2.46
2nd Gear - 1.46
3rd Gear - 1.00

Ford C6 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 2.40
2nd Gear - 1.47
3rd Gear - 1.00
4th Gear - 0.67

Ford T5 Gear Ratios:
1st Gear - 3.35
2nd Gear - 1.94
3rd Gear - 1.34
4th Gear - 1.00
5th Gear - 0.63

The 4R70W first gear is 2.85 and I believe 2nd is 1.70 (I can't remember that one) and overdrive is .70. Good info from what I saw though.

Isn't that for the wide ratio upgrade kit, or am I reading something wrong? Thanks.

The 4R70W has the wide ratio kit. That is what the W stands for.

This gear-set is standard in the 4R70W (AOD-EW) transmission and is the item that distinguishes a 4R70W from an AOD-E unit. The ratios of the wide ratio gear-set compare to the standard AOD and AOD-E ratios as shown in the table at left.

with the exception of the 1994-95 Thunderbird, 1994-95 F and E series trucks and the 1993-95 Lincoln Mark VIII which already have the wide-ratio 4R70W gear-set (thus the parts source for Ford Motorsport’s wide-ratio kit). Starting with the 1996 model year, standard ratio AOD-E transmissions are no longer manufactured and only 4R70W wide ratio transmissions are produced.

This may help out.
