Hey guys,

I seem to have developed a minor leak in my trans. I noticed it the other day when I was parked at my girlfriend's house in Mass and saw a small amount of tranny fluid on the ground just aft of the P/S front wheel well. The car drove fine on my return trip to NY, but this morning I noticed the car shifts a little more slowly than it should, especially in the 2-3 and 3-4 upshifts.

I want to actually fix this, but at present I've got no access to a garage so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding some stop-leak as a temporary fix. The leak doesn't seem to be awful, but I haven't gotten the chance to check the fluid levels yet - I'm going to do that on my lunch break a little later.

Keep your fluid topped off and check the dipstick tube "o"-ring.
I 2nd that, back when I put in my 2nd motor I ended up bending the trans dipstick tube and it caused a leak. Put a new o ring on it and it hasn't leaked since.

k, found the source of the leak. One of the hoses leading to the tranny cooler (just forward of the radiator) came loose, and every time I shift it's spraying tranny fluid everywhere. I gotta pull the splash guard (or whatever it's called) off to get to the hose fitting to tighten it up properly, but it's too damn cold outside right now! Just gonna let her sit in the driveway until I can get access to a heated garage, hopefully soon.

lucas trans-fix is also a nice additive for any transmission, put it in everything i own, no leaks, helps renew transmission fluid, and can even get you 5 miles with a blown transmission (dont ask how i know)

Yep, pulled the splash guard, re-fitted the hose, and everything's good to go. The only "problem" was that the jack I've got doesn't clear the bottom of the car, so I had to buy a set of ramps.
