just had my trans rebuilt and he said the old housing had counter weights is what he called them on the tail. he said the one he took off my car didnt have them so he wasnt able to put them back on but he said they are supposed to be there and that i should look into getting it fixed. i was wondering if someone could help me with this. on where i could get them maybe from a dealer or something or if they HAVE to be on there ????

They are only on the 97's ... they were put on to help with Vibrations at Idle. It wont matter it you dont have the counterweight on the back of the transmission, most of us here do not have it as well.

ok. thanks thats all i needed to know. i just didnt want it to cause issues without it

If you run it without the counterweight be sure to loctite the tailshaft housing bolts. I've seen them loosen time and time again causing leaks, then torque to spec and enjoy.

Yeah probably .. it was a late model feature. When was your build date ?

Ive never loctited the bolts a tailshaft .. that has nothing to do with the housing coming off.
