I just had it rebuilt a year and a half ago, and put maybe 10,000 miles on it. I paid $3000 to have it rebuilt, and it only came with a 1 Year Warranty. I just called the dealership and talked to them and they said they would do it for $2200. and it will come with a 3 Year 75000 mile warranty!

wow, 2200? might as well buy a bulletproof tranny from darrin and install it and it will still cheaper than the stock rebuilt.
i paid 1500 for a complete trans from alan. 2200/3000 is way WAY to much.
I would get a new radiator and flush out the convertor before you get a new tranny installed .

Sounds like you have contamination in your system .
Where did you go?? AAMCO ?
Is that $2200 an installed price ? usually removal and installation will cost about $300.
But yeah like mentioned above, you'll definately want to get a new radiator, and consider buying a built one from somewhere reputable instead of a reman Ford unit.

The $2200 is for a new Transmission and T/C from the dealership installed!
Ouch!! So what you got for that was a rebuilt 4R in the 95 case w/ stock internals?

If you want a great trans. that will last, then please talk to Darrin and Alan. Those guys will get you setup right and would probably beat that price. Of course you may have to install it yourself.

Get a new rad. or flush the old one, add a cooler if you haven't already, and install the new trans. From the work I've seen Darrin do I doubt you'd have an issue like this again. And if you get the converter from Alan, then that just tops the cake :D

Just my opinion though...

Note... you might want to mention you purchased the lentech Valvebody which saved you some cash . I still agree with you.
My wife wants me to just get rid of my car, I am thinking about asking $1000 for it. Engine is perfectly fine. Interior need cleaning, mostly getting the floors shampoo, and the body is fine just a couple of dings! Other than the tranny messed up the car ran great!
We paid $1770+tax for my wife's tranny rebuild & install w/ new TC. That included a B&M shift kit, and it was here in Hawaii, where everything is more expensive.

And we listen to women about cars why?
I think I need to find a way to let everyone know that I don't just build performance transmissions. I do stock rebuilds and everything in between too.
In the basic rebuild I update the important stuff and set them up for durability, I know you will be hard pressed to find a better price or a better product.

Also, shipping is usually around $200 to anywhere within the US.

yea but what good is a stock rebuild! darrin does good work, trust him and get something from him.
I just went outside to move my car a little further over in my drive way, and when I poped it in reverse, to let it just idle in reverse, it started kicking real hard kinda like a horse trying to through you off of him! than I poped it in drive and I tried to accelerate a little and it did the samething as it did in reverse!
