No, you didn't, unless it was retrofitted.

Through 1993, ALL MN12s got AODs, no E.

No you didn’t. All 89-93 MN12s had AOD’s, except for the 5-speed SC’s, and all 94+ cars had the 4r70 (again except 5-speed SC’s). No MN12 ever came from the factory with an AOD-E.

My bad, I must had been mistaken. The throttle body and intake I thought looked different then my 89. So maybe I assumed it was a AODE.

What does the TB on a AODE look like? :)

Dual or single butterfly?

I always thought of the AODE as a stepping stone for Ford transmission's. I guess Thunderbird's and Cougar's just skipped passed them and went straight to the 4R70W.
