My friend just picked up a green 94 t-bird. The guy he bought it off of babied the crap outta the car. Now heres my question. He told my friend that the car has a Triton v8 in it. I am not very familiar with the 4.6 cars, so is this true? Was it an option or something?

Unless the owner before him put a Triton in there he's full of it. It wasn't an option. I don't even think Tritons exsisted in 1994.

Triton is just the 5.4 isn't it? Look at a 4.6L F-150, I believe you will find no Triton badge, look at a 5.4 L F-150, bickety bam, stage come crashing down, you find a Triton badge.

Most likely. However there is the off chance that the car does have a 5.4L like J Miler's Cat.

I'm telling ya...

I think I heard that not only the green ones but some of the silver cars had that option as well.

OKAY GUYS!!!

My father-n-law owns a '97 F-150 Triton 4.6L V8...we both do all types of things to both our 4.6's.

Here's the deal.....the only differences between the Triton V8's (Ford made both 4.6's and 5.4's) and the 'stang and MN12 4.6 V8 is the intake for the Triton was made more for torque and pulling. The actual engine is basically the same.

PS- unless this bird has a cowl hood and the engine intake fills that cowling you only have the normal 4.6....and no the Triton never was an option on our cars...only in the trucks.

Well, a Truck 4.6L isn't going to fit under the stock hood. The 4.6L engine in birds/cougars is NOT a triton. even cars currently using a 4.6L don't call it a triton.

so...

...what kind of hp and torque mostly do the tritons pull? some people have cowl hoods for looks and could put the room to good use.
(maybe it was repainted green so that it would look like a triton model);)

ok ok ok

Enough with the joke of the color distinquishing the motor. I get it now, sheesh. There are just sooo many people I know with birds know that I distinquish them by saying there color before I say what they are. Thats just the way I talk. Please stop acting like I am a freakin idiot or something. Its not appreciated. it was funny the first time, then after liek 4 comments its getting old.

lol,
I like the green one. Not making fun of you, just roll with it. BTW- this is one of the rare green "non Triton Powered" Thunderbirds.

Hey Bob, I wasn't make fun of you ,...

I was just joking around about the green t-bird thing. and yes I know that I don't have a triton engine in my car. I was joking,.....bad joke maybe but never the less a joke that was not pointed at any member. Although a I think I found a rare lavender 97 DOHC V10 triton svt powered bird with an even rarer silver leather interior.

For...

For a few dollars you can have a triton too. Could this guy possibly have a real triton under the hood?

The badge says so he must have a Triton.
