OK, I understand we have a pressure regulated fuel system but will putting a 340LPH pump cause any driveability issues? I'd hope the pressure regulator can keep up with the pumps output. Just wanted to make sure. I believe a lot of you are running Walbro 255s on full stock cars so I don't think I'll have an issue. My concern was the pressure regulator not being able to regulate the extra fuel and me ending up with high fuel rail pressure and incorrect injector flow.

If it turns out to be a problem, before I did much else, I'd increase the size of the fuel lines (return then pressurized); you can also change out the regulator if necessary.

But no, it appears that you'll be fine.

Hrm. I thought I remember reading somewhere here that going beyond 255LPH requires an upgraded hard fuel lines.

Are you making the kind of power to justify a 350LPH fuel pump? If not, you are just unnecesssarily recirculating/heating up your fuel.

I know some Mustang guys are running GSS340s and stock fuel lines, of course the full potential of the pump is not being harnessed with stock fuel lines, but all I'm trying to do is have my car be driveable with the new pump until I can put the Vortech on. I don't see any reason thatbit won't work with stock lines, I just think flow won't be as great as it could be, but enough for the low power numbers I'm going for with the Vortech. I don't wanna run that crap TRex booster pump crap. Anyone have ideas? I thought the fuel pressure regulator would be the only possible issue but dunno.

The GSS340 is a 255 lph pump. If you're looking for a 340 lph pump, you want the Aeromotive 11540.

Yeah, sorry I meant 340lph, I don't know why the GSS340 is on my head. I have a QFS 340LPH from highflowfuel (rebadged Aeromotive).

A really high capacity pump will need bigger fuel lines (since it's flowing more fuel!), and if the factory regulator won't handle it, then there's after market ones you can use instead.

What other insight is needed?

(is confused at what else would be needed, not meaning to be sarcastic)

I guess I just want to see if anyone else was running a 340lph with a stock system, I know there is at least one person on here that has an Aeromotive Stealth...

Okay, so if I need fuel lines where should I go? Any pointers? I can't seem to find any ready-made options for the TBirds.

*blink* Bend your own?

Worst is to need the sealing bubble on the lines; you can put a hint of a bubble flare on it (not a full sized one) using something like https://www.amazon.com/OTC-4504-Stinger-Bubble-Flaring/dp/B0015PMZMU .

You can also go braided steel flexhose and put your own ends on, plus an adapter to fit.

You can try the stock system; but if you're going to need that 340lph unit, you won't find much premade to match *grins*

You do not need to change your lines to run the 340lph Stealth pump. You will want to upgrade the wiring to the pump, including the pass-through the sending unit hat. The stock wiring/plug will not hold up long under the increased draw.

Other than wiring, nothing needs to be changed.

I just installed a 340lph pump on my heap.

E85 and all, don't let your tank get below 1/4 in a drag race,
the engine will miss for a second and you will loose.

That's what I think happened, but I wasn't data logging at the time.

But I could be wrong.
