So without me doing any research whatsoever, is there a good LED option for 9005/9006s my car uses?

I haven't looked at 9005 or 9006, so I can't say what's good or bad. Luckily that bulb is a single filament and it looks centered in the glass capsule. So if you find one with centered leds, you just need to see if the length is correct or not.

After a quick look on ebay I saw 3 possible choices.

They all may be the same light with just different names. All the pictures look legit with real luxeon chips. I would try one of those. When you get it, compare the led placement to the filament. That should tell you pretty quick if the beam pattern will be good or not.

Yeah, it would be great and has been great the last 15 years. If your willing to send me the $400 per year Photobucket is suddenly demanding to turn it back on, I'll get right on it. (Sorry for the sarcasm, I'm a little upset with the situation)

Until that happens, it's gonna be a long wait until I can actually get my thousands of pictures off that site, find a new site, upload all of them and then come back and change all the links in my threads.

Users can still go to the site and remove their pics, but since all their users are doing this all at once their site is super slow and pretty much unusable right now. It's like a mass exodus. Eventually I'll be able to get all my pics off. Hopefully before they go out of business and shut down permanently. Which I'm guessing could be soon.

If people are seeing the photos is it possible for someone to put together a continuous stream of photos with the related text - say on MS Word. Then have it available to send out on email. I would really like to do this mod, but I am lost without the photos. Thanks.

I hate the headlights in my 97. It seems like there's no light at the front right close to the car. That's on dim. I did a lot of research on LED conversions. 9007 lights are probably the most problematic for LED. There are some LEDs that seem to work OK in different headlights. There's a real SAE/DOT LED for 9003/H4 available in Japan and it's expensive.

If you look at exactly how the halogen filaments work with the reflectors on the 9007 you might see how difficult this is to duplicate with LED. It's really hard to find actual tests and reviews for 9007 LED conversions. Websites like Amazon often group all the reviews of LEDs for different housings into the same ratings. And there are ones that claim to be DOT/SAE and are not.

I read in reviews that some 9007 LEDs do work OK on low beam, but the focus is way off on bright. So if anyone has installed LED 9007s in a TBird please tell us the results.

I know that my car has some weird headlight bulbs that look yellow on the left side and white on the right side of each bulb. So I will try adjusting the headlight aim and use a good halogen upgrade bulb. I'll probably install some slim clear fog lights like many here have. That should give me light where I think it's missing. I want an actual upgrade and not bad headlights that might look cool to kids.

The technology for reliable, cheap LEDs that work as well or better than halogen is not quite there yet. But it is just around the corner.

My bulbs are still working great. I have not had to do anything to them or even think about them since installation.

That L-NF model looks like low beam only.

The UM 218 and D-CR use a fan. Who knows how long that will last.

On the second link, I have no idea what led they are using.

I haven't tried any of these, so I don't know if their depth is correct. It would be up to you to try them out and see if they work for you.

This H4 Philips 12953BWX2 LED is the first example of what's coming. Just like the first DOT LED 7" round lights we saw a few years ago, it is expensive.

There won't be any good 9007 led replacement until standards are put in place. Right now there are no standad's so anything goes.

The light in this link does not look promising at all seeing as it uses a xhp50. It will be bright, but not have a sharp cutoff line. So it will be blinding oncoming traffic.
