I was fixing my gear shift, because of it's sloppiness, and when it was all reassembled, i hit a road block. When I turned the car on to check if the overdrive switch still worked, my climate control blows heat from the floor and the knobs on it are not responsive. The rear defroster as well as info center are also not responsive. When I press the traction assist button, it does not turn off. I have tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, but no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated, taking one step forward, but taking two steps back is seriously frustrating. Thanks guys.

Sounds simple and obvious, but I would take apart everything that you took apart before and make sure that all the wires are hooked up correctly. And check your fuses.

I checked fuses and all the wires look good and everything is hooked up. I also forgot to add that I tore the wires from the shift handle and this is when these problems arose. Any other ideas out there? Thanks.

Sorry to read about your troubles, as mentioned earlier go back and check the
along the length of those wires you pulled out. You've shorted something out.
Also have a close look at you fuses, physically pull them out and examine them,
its not always that obvious that there blown.
