What is the connector in the pic that is not connected do? In this pic, on the tube, is a single wire connector. On my car, the unused connector is connected to a sensor on the tube. Can someone explain what these connectors are for, why one is not used, and if it makes a difference which connector is used. Hope this made since, it is late!

The single wire and sensor is for the temp gauge. Not sure on the unused connector.

If Gray/Red and Light Green/Red it is the connector for the ECT which should be just to the left of the gauge sending unit.

The other plug is for a temp sensor if you had a digital cluster. the single wire plug is for the temp sensor with an analog gauge cluster.
