here is a guest book entry of a friend of mine with a '89 SC. what is this? I know they are MN-12's. Is this refering to something else on the car?

The mark is the FN-10 platform, I think he has his wires crossed.

no.

the Mk8 is considered an FN-10.

Platform is the basic structure, including drivetrain, that the car is built on. Ex: Lincoln LS= new Thunderbird, Ford Ranger= Mazda B-truck etc.

The FN10 is based on the MN12, but it is slightly longer and slightly wider.
