After reading some of the replies here in the forums I realize, I don't know as much about cars as I used to. There is some pretty smart people out here.

Got a question: I just got this 90 SC 35th AE. Start going down the road and i hear a roar. The faster I go the louder it Roared. About 11 miles at 65mph the car kicked a couple of times. Seems like it shifts a little slow also.
Anyone have any idea as to what is wrong. This way I know where to start looking and at what the cost of repairs are. Thanks a bunch.

Is the increase linear with speed or rpm?

Regarding the slow shifts, have you checked he line pres. in your tranny??
Very important that it's correct otherwise you're burn up your tranny within
about 50 miles..
Of course this only applies if you've got an AOD and not a manual...

Info on how to check line pres.

Not sure what you mean with roar but here some suggestions:
Wheelbearings? (Speed relative)
Something rubbing? (Speed relative)
Exhaust leak? (RPM relative)

Some other things to think of:
Where does it come from? Have a friend hang out of the window
and listen if it's from the out/inside, front or rear...
Not in a busy street though then you'll hear a "smack" and lots of yelling instead...
:D :D

Need some more info to be able to help you...
As Ostack said.. Speed or RPM?? you say "the faster you go the louder"
but did you try to stand still and rev it a bit?

I was think along the lines of the rear end, if it is linear with speed, but you're right, bearings and enything else back there is suspect.

see, I learned something. I never knew to check the line pressure on a transmission. Still has me worried about it kicking though. Since I doubt the car has seen any real maintiance and does need a good tune up, I'll do the maintiance and check the transmission pressure after a new filter and fluid. Any more ideas are welcome as it looks like i'll need all the help i can get. What ever happend to the good ole days when cars were made in the 70s...lol
