How does the hub come out of the bearing and the bearing out of the knuckle? Once I do get it all apart, do I need to press the new ones in or can it be done with hand tools?

easy way to take out the hub is to back out the retainer nut all the way to the end, then smack it with a hammer. It should remove the hub from the splines. The hub might come out of the bearing assy at that point. If not it will have to be pressed out. The bearing will have to be pressed out of the knuckle. The bearing/hub will have to be pressed together into the knuckle. You could take the entire loaded knuckle assy out, take it to a shop and have them press in the new assy. Oh yeah, get a new retainer nut and torque it to 250lbs.

Oh yeah, we have a "search" button at the top of the page, try it, its fun.

This will explain the process, and please do be careful is you decide to malletize the axle out of the hub.

Do yourself a favor and use a puller on the hub and push the axle out.
