So the previous owner of my tbird had a tune done on the car. The fan (03 cobra rad. & fan) kicks on at 191* according to the W&S infocenter. Was doing some maintenance and noticed the car has a 170* thermostat. Is this appropriate for the tune? Never had a problem with the car heating up or anything, but the climate here is pretty mild. What would be the appropriate thermostat for the car?

I've never heard of a 170* thermostate for a Ford. It's usually 160-180 then stock. That being said.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it. As long as you haven't got increased fuel consumption, or are having problems with excessive emmisions, I wouldn't even worry about it.

I've got a 180* in mine and everything seems just peachy.

The coldest Tstat you should use is a 180. The fan start temp for low speed is 200. The vehicle must have been flashed with a performance program of some type. The stock Tstat is a 192.
