Okay guys.. today I was driving and heard some metal scraping the ground. drove slow for about 200 feet and heard something hit the ground so I stopped and got out and this weird pipe about maybe 1 1/2 feet long or so and about 1/4" in diameter. My dad said he saw something like this sticking out of my mom's car around the rack for the steering... apparently mines decided to fall out... what exactly does this do and do I need to put it back in?

I think that is the tube that goes between the sides of the rack, to equalize pressure.

yeah thanks for the quick response guys I see where it goes... come to find out when the body shop did the suspension work from when I was in the accident they didn't put a clamp on the passengerside rack boot... they put a zip tie around that... you can bet your *** I'm going up there tomorrow with the pipe in my hand and *****in at someone... if my rack gets ruined because of them I'm going to be effin PISSED... steering racks aren't cheap.
