Tommrow, I'll be competing against my peers and people from other schools from the region in automotive service/2nd year in Skills USA. I think there'll be about 15 people conpeting total. Hopefully, I'll do good enough to go one to state

Well, I just got back. I took 4th. Not quite a medaling rank (1st-3rd were all taken by a tech school in Yakima), but still goes on to state.

I went to nationals last year for Power Equipment Technology...read: Lawnmowers

That's awesome, man, what sort of things did you have to do in the competition?

There were...

Engine measurement
Scan tool usage
Electronic measurements
Disk brakes
Drum brakes
Part identifaction
Suspension visual inspection
Starting and Charging system tests

I definetely had room for improvement. Pretty well sucked on drum brakes. The measuring, well, just need to speed up. Part identification was under the hood of a 93 Taurus with a 3.8, so the 2+ years with the '92 really paid off, nailed that part
