Hey guys, I had dynomax race bullets installed on my 97 LSC yesterday. I must say they sound great, I'm very pleased with them, the sound is classy and fits the car well. There is not much drone at all. I was wondering though, I wanted to get the 3rd cat removed and have an X-pipe installed in addition to the bullets out back (this is with stock piping). I'm looking for just a little more sound in volume and agressiveness. Do you guys think removing the 3rd cat will make my car a lot louder? If so, I think I will leave it as is, I don't want to ruin a good thing. On my Thunderbird before I got the ART exhaust I used to have straight pipes and I gutted the 3rd cat and it sounded pretty much the same except a little more raspy (although a gutted 3rd cat will sound much worse than when it is replaced with a Y-pipe or a X/H on dual exhaust.) Thanks for any input anybody has.

From what I understand removing the third cat will give you more sound. I have not done this to my car so I do not know for sure. I was also thinking of getting the same mufflers as you. Do you think you could record how it sounds? I would like to hear it before I do it. I would really appreciate it. Check out these sites for more info on the Mark(If you have been to them already):

Hmm, Yeah I posted this over on markviii.org but I had no reply yet. I may post this over on mark.org/lod/ or lvc. I will get some sound clips posted soon hopefully.

it will be louder. Are you planning to run a crossover and run true duals from the cats back?

Yes I said I was going to run an X pipe in place of the third cat and my car has factory true dual exhaust.

Nyte, I did get some clips recorded with my phone but it sounded like azz, you really couldnt even tell what the car sounds like. I am going home this weekend though so I'll see if I can borrow my brothers cam and get some good clips. As far as removing the 3rd cat and adding an X-pipe, I'm mostly trying to find out how much louder it will get and how it will affect tone ect. I want the car only slightly louder.
