hey guys, was thinkin of gettin new rear tires and have narrowed down my search to pretty much these two :

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Avid+Touring&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=17SR5TOUR (Yokohama Avid Touring) $46

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Turanza+LS-T&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=17TR5TLSW

(Bridgestone Turanza LS-T with UNI-T AQII) $70

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Avid+S/T&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=17TR5STOWL
(Yokohama Avid S/T) $46

all three seem to be a good tire......the bridgestone is white wall but i guess i can put that inward........yokohama seems good considering it's almost 50% the price of the bridge....i was just wondering if anyone had any comments or opinions on these and whether i should stick w/ my stock size (215/70/15) or change it.... the tires are on the car all year round.....

also, do you guys think it'd look stupid having the white lettering (AVID S/T ) on the rear but not the front?

Don't have those identical models, but can comment on the Yokohama brand. My wife had the Bridgestones.

I have Yokohama Ice radials for winter and know it was the right choice. A cousin has worked his whole working life for a tire shop and sold both the Brigestone and Yokohama and recommended these.

I drive the worst roads in Canada with these and love em.

I've had Yokohamas (Intermediates) on my SHO for the last 7K miles. they are wearing VERY good for a Z rated tires and my driving (I went through a set of tires this summer on my bird). They can't keep the SHO from spinning the tires on a tight corner in town (6 grand doing 35mph, inner tire leaves a nice patch)

They have been trouble free, no problems at all.

Go with either of these...
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Avid+S/T&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=46TR5STOWL

or...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=GT+Qualifier+T&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=46TR5GTQRWL (Same as Remington XT-120 CTR's). The Yokohamas are slightly better, some say, as it has better wet traction. Follow everyone's advice, and go with 245|60|15's... you speedo will only be about ~2% off (a little slower), but your traction will improve GREATLY.

Oh, and IMO, having white letters, to me, is tacky(on our Tbirds), but if I had a '69 Cougar or something, I'd definately sport the white letters on the outside.
