Driver's door won't open from inside using manual door handle/control

It's an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It will open using the power door switch. Using the power door switch was good, until one day recently when the battery went dead, after I closed the door and turned the ignition key. I had to climb over the console and exit from the passenger door.

I'm thinking the door handle/control may be bad or needs lubrication.

I'm ready to pull off the door panel, but would like some advice before I do that.

Tried to DM you but it seems the owners here are still content on killing this site. Click below. There was a rift here between the site moderators and the hosting platform. The hosting platform banned all the old admins when they asked to purchase the site back from the hosting platform.

The whole plastic handle needs to be replaced for the door to open from the inside. It’s a crappy design, I went through it myself recently. Junkyard should have what you need. Make sure to put some Vasoline on the part where it hinges since the plastic is brittle and you’ll be good to go.
