The first time I lowered a Tbird was in 1997 .. probably best to take care of the worn suspension parts before attempting this, since you'll need an alignment afterwards.

Have you tried looking for exhaust clips on YouTube?

 

I have, yeah. For whatever reason when you look up “1996 ford Thunderbird 3.8L V6 exhaust” it just gives you the V8’s. Here’s a better picture

 

Paint looks good.

Exhaust has never appealed to me with my supercharged V6.

Maybe try different or less keywords .. the V6 was offered between 1989 to 1997.

I agree with dDUBb about repairing your suspension before attempting to lower your car.

I’m running QA1 coil overs from SCP front and back.

I still have a set of Eibachs on the shelf but I'd almost prefer to cut my SC springs for their added stiffness.

How would I go about switching to LED headlights? I’d like to be able to see more than 40 feet while going 5 miles an hour. I think you're exaggerating a wee bit there as my lights work pretty well. But throw some on there and see what it does. Everyone else does.

Has anyone ever had any success lowering a T-bird like this? I’m almost kinda thinking about it. supercoupe performance would be the place to go for that. Vogtland 1" lowering springs/new shocks + 1 1/8" rear sway bar would help the handling and look. He might only have one option, but it's more than anyone else has.

I know and understand that I have a V6, but, would ANY exhaust setups sound good? I’ve tried YouTube but I get iffy results. Honestly, NO. It should be illegal to buy an exhaust for an N/A V6 or 4 cyl, lol! A Turbo makes a lot of difference in sound, but not one that is N/A.

I did come across a couple of NA 3.8 Tbird exhaust videos on YT, they seemed old and low quality. Some sounded OK, best I can describe .. like a lawn mower.

 

Yeahhhh that’s what I’m afraid of

 

It would sound better if you put that money into your stereo system instead. 😉

My very first tbird was a 3.8 I put a flowmaster muffler on it, at the time it sounded good being a teen. But now I look back and ask myself, why did I do that?? 😂

 

The Flowmasters get better with age .. I had the 2 chamber mufflers on my old Tbird and eventually they rotted to 1 chamber. 🤭

 

Flowmasters have been proven to rob horsepower. They also rob the people around you of a pleasant day.
