Engine "ticking" and rough idle???

I did my homework and found a threat that mentioned a ticking noise possibly being a bad injector. On my car I hear a ticking thats about the volume of an analog wall clock, maybe even quieter. This ticking is for sure in the engine bay, and it does sound to be more on the passenger side when I am in the cabin of the car. I thought it was an effect of the air silencer being removed, but now I am curious about it being a bad injector. It does increase in tempo when I rev the engine, or when the idle goes up slightly while P is engaged on the shifter. I get between 325-340 miles from a tank of gas and my first two tanks got me closer to 370-385 miles (i am a "spirited" driver, and hardly use cruise since 90% of roads around me have hills, traffic and stop lights/signs).

What injectors are recommended if this is a very likely cause of my "ticking"? And is there anything to make sure I do when I replace them to stop the flow of fuel from the lines? Sorry for the detailed questions, I just wanna get this done right and not worry about it for awhile!

Listen to each injector with a piece of hosing. Place one end of the hose right up to an injector, and the other end right up to your ear. If it is an injector this will help isolate which one(s), if any.

Valve train components can also cause ticking. A clogged oil restrictor not allowing oil into the upper head will cause valve train ticking.

No it doesn't sound like an exhaust leak, it gets noticeably louder when I open the hood while the car is running. And from a few feet away i can't hardly hear it at all with the hood down. Plus I have fixed a few wince my dad's 93 Nissan Pathfinder has a slight leak...or maybe better defined as an "unrepairable opening" lol.

I will try the hosing trick for the injectors, I might replace them anyway since they appear quite dirty on the outside (all I can tell is they appear to be yellow, maybe very light orange).
Thanks for the input guys! Much appreciated!

What injectors are recommended

19lbs/hr Bosch generation III, ev6, disc-type nozzle with Jetronic/Minimiter connector.

Kits are also available to rebuild old injectors.

Note too: Some 4 hole injectors are designed to spray the fuel toward the intake valves on 3v/4v heads. If you find 4 hole injectors, which do not atomize fuel as well as disc type, make sure they are for a 2v head.

When replacing injectors, as when working with any component associated with the pcm, it is recommended to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid voltage discharge that could fry the computer. I also wear blue nitrile gloves to eliminate possible static electricity discharging from my fingers frying the computer.

Once the battery is disconnected, purge residual fuel pressure from the fuel rail at the schrader valve before pulling the injectors.

We still don't know if the ticking you've described, and rough idle is caused by bad injector(s). I wouldn't want you to spend money on them, and still have the same problem.
