Engine "ticking" and rough idle???

I did my homework and found a threat that mentioned a ticking noise possibly being a bad injector. On my car I hear a ticking thats about the volume of an analog wall clock, maybe even quieter. This ticking is for sure in the engine bay, and it does sound to be more on the passenger side when I am in the cabin of the car. I thought it was an effect of the air silencer being removed, but now I am curious about it being a bad injector. It does increase in tempo when I rev the engine, or when the idle goes up slightly while P is engaged on the shifter. I get between 325-340 miles from a tank of gas and my first two tanks got me closer to 370-385 miles (i am a "spirited" driver, and hardly use cruise since 90% of roads around me have hills, traffic and stop lights/signs).

What injectors are recommended if this is a very likely cause of my "ticking"? And is there anything to make sure I do when I replace them to stop the flow of fuel from the lines? Sorry for the detailed questions, I just wanna get this done right and not worry about it for awhile!

No it doesn't sound like an exhaust leak, it gets noticeably louder when I open the hood while the car is running. And from a few feet away i can't hardly hear it at all with the hood down. Plus I have fixed a few wince my dad's 93 Nissan Pathfinder has a slight leak...or maybe better defined as an "unrepairable opening" lol.

I will try the hosing trick for the injectors, I might replace them anyway since they appear quite dirty on the outside (all I can tell is they appear to be yellow, maybe very light orange).
Thanks for the input guys! Much appreciated!
