I think you'll have to do it custom....use two grills to make one. If not, I'm you you could sculpt a design and make one out of fiberglass.

Cougar grill

Hey I've got a '94 with the new style grill. I've always wanted to do something custom too. I"ve always wondered what it would look like if you put grill mesh like the import guys use in the grill. Somehow cut a piece and place it in there. Do you get it? I know how you feel with wanting to do something with your grill!
Later.

ahhh.. nice to have a 90 bird, no grill to worry about. but i dont the think the wire mesh would look good. what you could do is, paint it to match the color of the car, if it isnt already. that fiber glass idea is a good one, or, you you could convert completely over to a bird frontend, cept add a little twist. get the sc front clip, 96/97 lights, and get a fiberglass hood for the 89-93 birds, and mod it to fit the lights. youd have no front front emblem and one really interesting cat. i dont think anyone has done that. then you could also get sc sides, and sc rear and fill in the tbird sc part on the rear. just throwing ideas, i know they are expensive, but if you have the will for custom and can spot the cash, itd be sweet. -greg

i've seen a green 96-97 tbird in my area a couple of times that had a custom grill. The bird in the front was removed and the small area where it was was replaced with a grill that looked exactly like the custom grills you see on suv's. I thought it looked really good

Donnie - I can see why you'd want to do something about that grill - the 94's were terrible looking :D! Get a body colored 91-92 XR7 grille, and you're set :).

Uh, I vote for taking 2 90 style grilles, hack the Cougar emblem spokes out of the grille you want to keep, taking the spokes without the cougar emblem from the donor grille, and put them in their place. Some sanding, and spray body color.

I also need grill help. What I have, is an 89 SC bumper cover that's going to be on the car, but don't know wether I should modify the SC bumper to fit the 92 grille, or modify the 92 grille to keep the SC bumper stock.

I believe that the bumper is probably more easily modified, and less noticable as being modified.

Check this out: www.jmsproductsinc.com you might get some ideas from it. You could go to home depot and get some mesh. Get some string lites from walmart for $18, we put some behind my friend's blue chevy symbol, and put it around the grill, or for t-birds, can spell out ford, for cougars, mercury, in the signature type behind mesh, or write out your name. Saw someone put some smoke machines behind his Cougar on hydrolics (on www.StreetSourceMagazine.com) and they came out like steam from a nose, you know what I'm talking about. Put some of those air horns behind it, can pick up a set at Auto Zone, replacement horns. Can't think of much more right now.

I um, uh - well....

NO WAY IN HELL!!! That's RICE man :D!

What I'd like to see, is a photoshop of a 91-92 grill without the Cougar logo - can somebody photoshop that for me?

I've ripped my lettering off the back, and will remove the cougar emblems from the C pillar when the car gets painted. May as well modify the grill while I'm at it :).
