I have a 1997 mark 8 , not the LSC one. just wondering what kind of mods were out there for the car. Looking for some ideas and some feedback on stuff people have already tried. Thanks.

Try looking through the readers rides section. Anyone with a "M" next to their name has a Mark 8 (1993+). You can look through the listed mods on those pages. Also check Lincolns of Distinction.

Hmmm its basically the same as the bird/cats. Remove air silencer (althought its much harder on a mark as i understand.) exaust, intake, chip, MAF sensor, jerry mod. In fact, modifying ne car is pretty much the same... maitnence and troubleshooting is why we need pages like this. Also we need them to find skeet ways to make a CAI

traded the cougar for a 96 markviii, no more cat. after i got the mark viii i keep seeing cats and bird more than when i had the cat. i miss going fast.......especial w/ the 4.10 2400stall. i can say i am a 4cammer.98 mark. now keep this in mind this is going to be a pricy perfermance car. like he said the air silincer is hard to get...take off the wheelwell liner out to get the airsilincer out. go to the markviii.org site more help. maxrpm.com for parts

Like someone else mentioned, www.markviii.org is full of people that have modified their Mark VIIIs.
Definitely get a chip,180 T-stat,tranny cooler,4:10 gears,Dennys Driveshaft or Metal Matrix from Dennis Reinhart,and a true dual exhaust from ART,www.speedfreak.ccoutside18 said:

Modding the air intake tube........
If you have a 93-96 you can mod the intake tube.This is the black tube thaat runs from the MAF to the T/B.Under all that pretty dressing is the air tube,once you get to it you will see 2 large tanks attached to it.You can trim those off and JB weld the holes shut.Take some of the plastic you cut odd and use as a filler.This will actually make it breath better.I cant explain it but it does.I have done a couple now and I did mine and it seemed to help.
